Estero Bay: Tarpon are Back

Capt. Joe Angius
April 3, 2017
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The backwaters of Estero Bay have finally filled up with juvenile tarpon. I've been seeing schools around the past week or so, but the past two days my clients and I jumped a few fish. Since the water temperature is up, they are aggressive and feeding heavy.

Before the tarpon started to chew, I've been targeting snook, redfish, and trout. The redfish are feeding on the highest of tides, as do the snook. Trout have made their way onto several flats and are feeding on glass minnows.
