Snook ot Tarpon

Capt. Greg Stamper
June 4, 2015
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Snook fishing continues to be great with both pilchards and threadfins getting their attention daily. Snook are now in their beach haunts fairly regularly as well as the pass mouths and docks with good current. Using 2/0 and 3/0 circle hooks and 30lb fluorocarbon leader will handle most snook just fine. As another week of low winds in the mornings passes, tarpon chasing continues to be great. Getting out early before to many other boats run through the schools has paid off with fish taking crabs, threads and even pinfish. Lots of random catches kept anglers busy when using small baits on small hooks. Flounder, mangrove snappers, mackerel, pompano, and jacks enjoyed offerings of shrimp and small pilchards all week.
