Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report
The business side is slow but the reports I get are really good. The temperature is unseasonably warm 87 degrees and going to stay that was for the next week. The seas are calm and the big tides make for a good bite. There is plenty of bait around from Haulover to Homestead, you can turn that into bigger fish. Catch enough to live chum and when in the finger channels cut them in half and fish them deeper for the Muttons.

I'm with Jim, Doreen, Kate and Steve today, we started out catching bait around Haulover and then ran south to Stiltsville looking for Mutton Snappers and Groupers. The conditions were good but we couldn't get the fish to bite. I decided to move and that's when I saw Jim dumping a couple BANANA'S over the side. I am a believer in the Banana superstition and I will prove it again. We had not caught a fish in an hour of fishing, toss out the banana's and the Grouper's bit on the first drop!
Kate caught a 22 inch Gag and then another, Steve caught a couple Red Grouper and then Doreen's drag was screaming. Jim was next with a big Cero Mackerel. The bite was good until the tide slowed and we headed in.
