Cooling Out In South Florida

Capt. Steven Tejera
December 22, 2009
Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

In the last couple of weeks the conditions have changed so much with some days being slick calm and hot to some being windy, rainy, and cold. We had a cold front push through over the weekend dropping the air and water temperatures. Before the front we were doing good on snook and redfish. We also had a good night time snook and tarpon action last week. I got a call from my father that the best christmas gift I can give him is to take him fishing. We met up early this past sunday morning and it was cold, so cold that my dad ended up calling it quits around 10:30 am. We are definitely in a winter pattern right know when it comes to fishing and adjusting to the conditions is vital to having a successful day. I have spent the last two days off organizing the boat and cleaning everything out. 2010 is in the horizon and some excellent fishing is as well. Happy Holidays!
