Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing has been good in the Park. I did notice the start of a red tide and fish kill toward the Chokoloskee/Flamingo boarder last week, however we still caught nice fish in the middle of it. Hopefully, the water quality in the park will improve soon, because in some areas the water looks like pea soup.
We've been successful on all of our trips. Most of the redfish that we have been catching are on the lower stages of the tides. We've even finding them off the flats in a little deeper water and we've been following the snook and redfish as they advance toward the shallower water, with the incoming tide. There's also a lot of Tripletail around, look under the grass mats and crab pots.

Tarpon fishing has been on fire, most of trips have been flyfishing trips, however we still caught a few on plugs.

The weather warmed up and these fish responded. We've gone 7 for 22 on Giant Tarpon over the last couple of trips. I still have some open days this Tarpon season, so please give me a call for availability. 305-546-8864 www.flyfishsouthflorida.com
