Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

We've been experiencing some great Spring time fishing in the Glades. The bulk of my charters have been Tarpon trips, however the skinny water fishing in the Park has been so good, that we've incorporated some snook & redfishing into some of our trips. We've been landing an even mix of snook and redfish. All sight fishing...We've been catching these fish on the lower stages of the tides and landing double digits. On our Tarpon Trips, we've still been averaging 2-3 fish per trip and around 10 bites or so.

I had some great clients come down for Texas and do some field testing for Backlash Rods. The goal was to catch Big Tarpon on ultralight gear. Accomplishing this goal was Awesome! But, seeing is believing, as I whatched these guys put on a clinic with 8lb rods. They subdued several 80lb fish in just under 5 minutes. Another great thing about these rods, are the quality components that they are using. The Guides in combination with the quality blanks, allow the angler to cast an additional 20 or more feet, then with standard spinning tackle. Having that exrta reach can make the difference in catching a fish or not. And that fish that was out of reach/range and that you couldn't cast to... Well you could've caught it with one of these, and that one fish could've made the difference or made your day. They're a family owned business and everything is made here in the USA. Their Facebook link is below and here's their number.(956)434-2506

Give me a shout if you want to experience this amazing fishery, I still have some openings before this Tarpon Season is over. Captain - Taylor 305-546-8864
