Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

We are definitely in the Fall/Winter pattern down here in South Florida with fronts passing through every 5 days or so. During the fronts, we have strong west winds that turn Northeast and eventually clears up the water which makes it ideal for sight fishing. In between fronts, the weather can be slick calm and fishing is off the charts good . This past week we fished during a passing front and right after it. The fishing was still really good, we just had to work a little harder. A lot of snook and baby tarpon were caught deep in the backcountry. Casting along the mangroves is one of my favorite ways to fish because you don't know when a snook is gonna come out destroy your fly or bait.

The night fishing in downtown Miami will be red hot in the next month or so, as the shrimp starting pouring through. It is not uncommon to hook into 10 fish a night with most of the fish being 80-100+lbs. It's a great 4-5 hour trip pretty much in downtown Miami and you can hop on the boat right after work!
