Everglades Backcountry Report

Capt. Jason Sullivan
February 13, 2014
Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

There has been a few tarpon around in the backcountry with this warm weather that we have had. The water temps have been in the mid to high 70's and the tarpon flood the backcountry when this happens. This past week we have hooked some nice fish pushing 100lbs.

When we can get a away from the tarpon, the redfish and snook fishing has been really good. We worked topwater lures and jigs and hammered the shoreline picking away at the redfish, snook, and trout. We also got into some big fish this week. As soon as we hooked into them, we couldn't stop them from breaking us off.

The night scene in Miami is still pretty good. Some nights are better than others, but there are alot of tarpon to play with. The tides are perfect this week for hooking in to some big silver!
