Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report
can definitely feel in the air that Fall is right around the corner down in the Everglades. That cool breeze in the morning and the no humidity during the day is a could change of pace. We have a had a west wind over the past week or so and it has really slowed down the big tarpon fishing on the Gulf side. The winds are suppose to lay down and shift back to the east by the end of the week and I suspect the tarpon fishing will pick up right where it left off. The baby tarpon and snook are still plentiful in the backcountry and always a good option this time of year. Once the winds shift, the creeks with mudflats on the Gulf side will load up with redfish on low water and that is a lot of on fun on fly and spin tackle.
With all the rain we have had over the last month, some areas on the freshwater side of the Glades has opened up and we are able to get to those places. The bass fishing in those areas are usually pretty good.
