Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well we had a great day on the water today considering the wind picked up out of the west and was muddying up the gulf pretty badly! Usually they say "When it blows from the west, stay home and rest." Well today we were glad we didn't! Caught around 30 red and black drum, a handful of nice ones up to 10 lbs. Fished some deeper canals and shorelines around the cape and flamingo. The nicest red we caught around a little secluded island on a pinfish! Caught a handful of nice trout in some runoffs and ditches, along with a ton of little ladyfish and a handful of jacks. Just a gorgeous day, overcast in the morning and on the way home, but that was nice as it kept it pretty cool during the day. The water was nice in the high 60s and the air was mid 70s - perfect weather this time of year!

Flamingo Fishing Forecast:

Well tomorrow there is more cold weather coming this way to south florida, so that will probably slow things down a little in the backcountry, though afternoons may still be good if its warm enough. Offshore fishing should still be good - saw lots of kings and some nice cobias today, with a handful of sailfish flags!
Target Species:

redfish
