Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

I am with Karl this morning, we got out at low light looking for Tarpon out of Haulover inlet. Karl prefures lures and I didn't want to waste time looking for bait and took advantage of low light conditions. We found them and threw all the lures in the box at them without a hit, sometimes live bait does pay off. We ended up with some decent Jacks, Cudas and Trout before calling it a morning.

I am back at Haulover today, I picked up Greg at his home in Bal Harbor along with his daughter, and nephews Mac and Kalin. We stay close to his home and started out with some Trout when the bight slow we moved on. The next spot had some 3-5 lb Jacks on it , the kids were having a blast! They caught some Barracuda's as well. We moved on and went looking for Sharks which we sight fished. They were cruising on the surface and Greg pitched bait after bait at them which they refused.

We had a bait out and a Snook ate it, Greg let him run and got a little excited on the hook set pulling the bait out of its mouth. We pitch another bait out and had a Cuda cut us off so we moved on and finished off with some better Trout up to 23 inches. The kids had enough so we headed in!

I fished South Biscayne Bay with Frank and Kathy today, It was rainy with storm clouds but we got up shallow looking for Bonefish first. We had a wake come at us and Frank pitched out the bait and the fish swam right by it. The tide was falling and it was getting a little to sahllow for comfort so I ran out to Ceasars Bank, the storms were building all around us but we got up looking there for fish. It took about a half hour and the storms were all over us and it was time to head in. We ran to the marina and played with some Ladyfish just so he could hook a few fish. It came down right as we were putting the boat on the trailer he'll be back in a couple weeks hopefully we can get it done.

We have a Tropical wave sitting over us for the next few days so things could get good this weekend.
