Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

With a mild winter and nice warm weather the fishing down in Flamingo has been awesome as usual. As a Flamingo fishing guide, I am blessed to have excellent fishing and weather just about year round. We have been doing good on the redfish and snook in the skinny water with some nice trout mixed in as well. I also have been seeing more tarpon. We have had plenty of warm days and there has been tarpon rolling around, giving us shots laid up in shallow water. We also have been catching plenty of black drum and sheepshead when fishing the backcountry creeks/runoffs with liveshrimp on a jighead. The snook and reds have been shallow working the mullet muds and busting them every chance they get. When they are doing this I like to pole the boat slowly and work the area hard. This makes for some awesome sightfishing in flamingo with artificials or fly. If you have been wanting to book a Flamingo fishing guide but were not sure what time of year, waste no time and book your trip with one of the many good Flamingo guides. You will have a blast!
