Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

The "early season" tarpon fishing has been nothing short of epic so far. We have had some trips in the Everglades where we have jumped over 10 fish. These are not your baby tarpon either, these fish have been massive, which is typical for March. We found them in big bays, in the rivers, and laid up in small calm bays. I love watching someone who has never hooked a tarpon, hook one, and a 100lb fish comes flying out of the water!

The tarpon fishing will continue to get better with the arrival of our migratory fish which start showing up at the end of March and push south until May. They then head back north until about July. Right now we fishing our "resident" fish.
The snook fishing in the backcountry has been really good. We have ventured deep in the backcountry and we have done good with spin and fly. This week we traveled as far back as you can go and got into a great largemouth bass bite! Not many places you can catch a snook, redfish, tarpon, seatrout, and a bass in one day!!

I have a few days open at the end of March and my April is filling up. So give me a call to get out on the water.
Tight Lines,
