Flamingo Fishing Report- August

Capt. Steven Tejera
August 26, 2012
Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

We have tropical storm Isaac swinging his bands accross South Florida right now as I write this fishing report. Just a bunch of overated rain and wind gust. I'm thinking by tuesday the weather should start to clear up and we can get back on the water and get back to causing sore lips to the fish.
August has been AWESOME! We caught pretty much every inshore species you can think of. Big snook, tarpon, redfish, black drum, seatrout bonefish and permit. All the bonefish and permit were caught in Biscayne Bay but the snook, reds, trout, tarpon and black drum were all caught in Flamingo. The snook and baby tarpon fishing has really made a good comeback since the "freeze" we had 3 years ago. The good snook and tarpon fishing combined with our excellent redfish fishery has made for some exciting days on the water. Multiple grand slams, slams and to many doubles to count. A lot of happy customers with sore arms!
