2/21/09 Flamingo - Not Interested

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

That's what the fish had to say to us. The week ended breezy with some cold water temps. We came up on plenty of snook and redfish, the only problem is that they were not interested in what we were offering them. We had shots at redfish tailing, pushing wakes and laid up. We offered them just about every artificial you can think of and even the fly rod, but they were just not interested. The snook were also being stubborn but were worked hard at them and we were able to capitalize. We also came up on some trout which were were able to catch but not being as aggressive as usual. The cold water temp's had the fish a bit sluggish. Once the water starts to warm up a bit the fish should start to feel more comfortable and get into feeding mode. Clear skies, rising temps and calm winds will make for some sweet days to do some sightfishing.

We will be fishing the Backcountry Fly Championship this week and the Backbone Lures 1 Jig/Fly the next. Look forward to reports for both tournaments.
