Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Little by little we are starting to feel the change. Temps are rising, water level has come up and late afternoon rain showers are becoming more frequent. March is typically windy and this march has been no exception so far. Despite the wind, on the warmer days we have found plenty of redfish prowling the flats taking advantage of higher water level and rising temps. I have also seen a few tarpon starting to move through. We also found redfish and snook around deeper mangrove shorelines and Islands. We caught most of our fish on either jigs with Gulp shrimp/live shrimp and jerkbaits rigged weedless. Saturday was the toughest day of the week, the temps were a bit lower than it was during the week and had the fish off the flats and into the deeper runoffs and shorelines. As the temps keep rising you can expect some good fishing for bonefish, snook, tarpon, permit, redfish and trout. The best days are going to be the days that are warmer and clear skies for visibility when sightfishing. Its warming up and the weather is nice, therefore it is time to get back on the water, give me a call and we will set something up!
