Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

No. Well maybe just a little. This weekend my good buddy Ken and I got out to do some shallow water, sightfishing in Florida Bay . We had all of our usual gear on board aswell as our food, drinks and yes, Bananas(supposed to be bad luck-myth busted)! We did some prefishing for some upcoming tournaments that we will be fishing this summer. We fished a few areas we have not fished all winter/spring that from now on through summer there should be a few fish that will call those areas home. We came across plenty of fish some being hungry some very spooky and plenty of them having lock jaw. With a stealthy approach and sometimes even staking out and waiting for fish to come to us, we were able to capitalize on a few fish. Having some patience, being very stealthy and constantly adjusting to the conditions also helped us be successful. All of our fish were caught on DOA/Gulp jerkbaits rigged weedless. The fishing is hot and the weather is nice with a few rain showers rolling through early this week. I think the rain will help the fishing later on this week/weekend and it looks like the weather is going to be nice. I will be off to the bahamas aboard the Connie Marie this week/weekend in search of the man in the blue suit(Blue Marlin) and whatever else wants to keep those knots tight. Keep an eye out for the report next week!
