12/15/08 Flamingo- In And Out With The Wind

Capt. Steven Tejera
December 15, 2008
Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

This weekend we fished the inside(Whitewater Bay) and the outside(Floriday Bay) in very windy conditions. We fished the inside saturday and found extremely low water. We only picked up a few small fish and the north wind was killing us, so we made a run back to the marina, loaded the boat on the trailer and unloaded it in the florida bay ramps and fished the outside. It was tough with the wind and low negative tide. We picked up a redfish and lost another one and caught a few trout. We went to one last spot at the end of the day as the tide was coming in and flooding the exposed mudflat. We had numerous shots at redfish only to capatalize on one big fish. Sunday we ran the outside out east and we struggled all day to find the more glamour species. We ended up with 1 redfish, 1 Bluefish, 10 or so snapper and a few small jacks mixed in.
Once this wind dies off it will make for some great days to go fishing, lets get out there and catch'em up!
