Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

The spring bite is here and is only getting better as the days go by. Even though the temps dropped a bit tuesday night it has been warm enough the past couple of days to get the fish back on the feed again and start to get into a spring time pattern. As long as the temps keep rising the fishing is going to get better than what it already is. Again this week the wind has not given us a break but that did not stop us from finding the fish. This week we fished from the ocean side of key largo to flamingo having shots at big tarpon, snook, redfish, and seatrout. Even though some nice fish were loss some nice fish were caught and good times were had. We fished mainly jerkbaits rigged weedless in mullet/sardine colors. With all the wind the key has been to try to find areas that are protected from the wind and holding bait. Signs of small snappers, sharks, pinfish, jacks, mullet and crabs patrolling the flats are all good signs of a fishy area. It looks like the wind might just give me a break later this week and that's a good sign that spring/summer patterns will start to fall in and calm winds will bless us. Lets get out on the water and spend a day in what I call paradise!
A few mugshots!
