Great Fall Fishing

Capt. Ariel Cabrera
October 14, 2008
Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fall fishing has improved much after all the rain we had. It has brought the temperatures down a bit and made for some nice overcast days of fishing. Early morning has had great responses with topwater baits for species like, snook, tarpon, trout, and jack. Berkley Gulp, Fishbites, and Ultrascent baits have been working well too below the surface. Out in the Glades the islands and nearby flats have been producing snapper, redfish, tarpon, and snook. The coast and backcountry Gulf however; has been very good as well and definitely worth a try. This is a great time of the year to make the long runs. Expect great redfish bites.

Flamingo Fishing Forecast:

Lately, I guess out of convenience and because of more ½ day trips we have been fishing Biscayne Bay. Here we have been hooking up with bonefish, jacks, large barracuda, shark, and an occasional surprize like a giant boxfish or a permit. I've been fishing anywhere from Stiltsville to Soldier Key or the Arsenickers to Card Sound. Make sure to have a crab handy. And get an early start before boat traffic begins.
Fishing is my passion and I have been chartering for nearly ten years now. Boy how time flies! I would like to encourage my readers to visit my website www.captainariel.com and check out my new link to cyberangler's photo gallery. Soon I plan to post my recently published articles to help out fishermen and those who love boating. Please e-mail or call if you have any questions. I am honored and want to thank my readers, clients, colleagues, and all the support from the media. Thank you and stop wishing just go fishing!

Target Species:

snook, tarpon, redfish
