Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

122812

I am with Karl, Jim and his son Ray fishing Flamingo. The morning started out slow with a couple Redfish, Sheepheads, Trout Jacks and Ladyfish. The action got better as we ran west and followed the high water rising. We fished a giant mullet mud that had some Redfish in it but we had no bites. Karl was throwing a Chartreause Mirrolure and catching some monster Trout, Jim and Ray also joined in Catching a few. It was fun for them, we were in 2 feet of clear water and they could see every bite.

We hooked a big Lemon Shark which came loose and a 20 lb. Snook that did a head shake that we all felt. We lost that fish but the next one we hooked didn't get away all 40 inches of her, Ray had the Snook of his young lifetime (18 lbs). Karl got the next fish a 26 3/4 inch Redfish and then we lost a few.

The tide was coming in it was late I said one more spot! We got on the trolling motor, moved into position and it was on. These guys were catching Redfish 3 at a time, then I picked up a rod and made it 4 at a time. We did this for an hour and a half. Karl hooked something that pulled a little better than the small Redfish we were catching. The fish took him around the boat a couple times before I could grab the 36 inch Snook, we took pictures and released her. The numbers on this day were really good and it stays this way as long as the water stay cold. I said I've had enough how about you guys, they agreed and we left them biting!

I am with Adam and his dad Will fishing Flamingo. It cold and windy @ 30 mph, we started out with some Redfish for the first couple hours in a protected cove. It was almost impossible to get out of the wind but we found some fish regardless. We had a lot of species today Redfish,Trout, Ladyfish ,Jacks, Snappers, Black Drum, Sheepheads, Catfish, and a Sea Robin. The numbers were good again today with will catching the day biggest Redfish 26 inches.

I am fishing with my friend Roly and his son Ryan at Flamingo today. Ryan is home from college and loves to fish. Ryan hooked up on his first cast with a decent Sheepshead and then caught a Redfish on every cast for the next hour. Roly was in on the action also catching a 24 inch Trout to go with a bunch of Redfish. We moved around allot today and almost every spot had fish on it. We got into a pothole that had hundreds Trout, Jacks and Ladyfish. It's hard to wear out kids but I think I did it with Ryan, he slept the whole ride home. The bite is so good it almost impossible to keep track of how many fish they caught!
