Good numbers of Reds/Snook

Capt. Jim Hobales

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

0902009

I am part of a 4 boat trip today, I have John and his wife Barbara aboard with me and we are at Flamingo. We started out on the coast looking for Snook, I had John throwing a spoon and I was casting a "Twitch n Rap" and handing the rod to Barbara. We caught 20 Snook or so and then got into the Trout, Jack, Snappers and Ladyfish and caught another 25 fish. It was brutally hot and Barbara was fried from the sun so we headed in.

I am with Jacob and his son George today, the winds were steady and out of the west but I still ran to the coast. We got into a couple decent bites along the way, The Snook were on a point and Jacob really whacked them on a Gulp Shrimp. George and I watched as Tarpon banged up some small baits and he tried to make the difficult cast. We finally moved on ran to the beaches where we caught a bunch more Snook. The winds made it tough so I ran back around Snake bite because the winds were blocked a little bit. We hit a couple spots and finally found some Redfish mudding up on the flats, George was first and caught one on a "Twitch n Rap" and then for the next hour we caught Redfish after Redfish using Gulps, paddle tails and "Twitch n Raps". We called it and they were still biting but it has been steamy and hot with temps @98 degrees today. George said this was exactly the fathers day gift he had in mind for his dad, Im glad it worked out!

It's good give me a call and I can put you on them!
