Everglades National Park - Flamingo

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Yesterday we caught and released a good variety of fish at Flamingo. It was trout in Whitewater, a 60lb tarpon in Oyster Bay, and snook up to 13lbs along the Gulf coast. During the day, while dodging the occasional rain cloud, we never saw another boat... The Gulf coast is clearing and we stuck several nice snook on lures. The action came mostly on 1/4oz. jigs and fairly light line. One of my anglers was a 9yr old boy who managed to hook and fight a 100lb bull shark up to the boat for a close look at those teeth....

This weekend the fishing should continue to improve as long as the wind stays out of the southeast and the rain moderates a little. For those that don't want to travel to Flamingo, the night fishing around bridges from Miami to Miami Beach is still going strong for small tarpon and snook.

Tight Lines
