Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

I am fishing with Ross and his wife Mindy today we are trying to get Ross a big Tarpon. I have got him small Tarpon but we a looking for something in the giant category today, he leaves back to Chicago next week. I netted some perfect size mullet and we looking Tarpon, they were scarce early in the day but showed up for us on the afternoon incoming tide. The hard part of bait fishing for Tarpon is your going to catch a lot of Sharks luckily Ross don't mind. We caught a little bit of everything during the course of the day but I was frustrated I couldn't get him a Tarpon. It was close to 4 o'clock, I said one last spot. We had 3 mullet left and got to work. We sat there for 15 minutes and it was quite, that's when I said lets give it 5 more minutes. I didn't finish the statement and we had a giant Tarpon chasing our mullet, it greyhounded and threw the mullet.Ross brought it in and it was completely scaled only a Tarpon or Snook would do that. I rigged another mullet up and we pitched it to the same spot and again it got hit but the Tarpon let go after a long run. Ross being a nice guy just said let's go! It was a fun filled day with a bunch of fish, excitement and heartbreak. I'll see you next year Ross!

I am with my friend Joe Calero and his son Little Joe, we started out working potholes and edges on the high tide. We caught a couple Ladyfish so I put them to use! It took only a few minutes and we were hooked up to a really hard pulling big Shark. Little Joe picked up the rod and held on while the Shark pulled 200 yards of line eventually shaking and breaking the line. We did this several times catching a couple 50 lb. Lemon Sharks. We netted some mullet and moved around a lot looking for anything that would bend the rod. we ended the day with Snook, Trout, Sharks, Ladyfish a bunch of Snappers. Little Joe slept the whole way out of the park and was worn out
