Slammed them!

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Flamingo

I fished the Day on the Bay with buddy's JP (from Sports Grill ) and Bruce down at Flamingo. I pulled up to my first set of potholes where we had some big Snook and Tarpon busting the mullet schools coming thru. It was awesome but we didn't catch any of them so we had to move on.

It started slow but we got a few snook up to 28" ,Trout 16" and Snapper early and JP jumped 2 Tarpon. I was patient waitng for the tide to get right! We moved around and ended the day with 5 species, Bruce had another Tarpon hooked up later in the day but "shook the hook". We had a 45 minute period when every bait that hit a pot hole got ate by Snook,Reds up to 31' and Sharks to 6 ft.. The Tarpon is the one that cost us 1st place by 4 inches. It is a good cause, great food and some of the funniest stand up ever at the capt's meeting by capt Dave Baskin. We ended up with the top angler-Jp. the biggest bay slam Bruce and I got the top guide.

The fishing business generally slows down in September but the fishing is really anything but slow. We are just about ready for the mullet run to get into full swing on both coast as we witnessed this weekend. I usually get all my friends out these weeks because it's just good and I don't want to miss out. I will fish from Haulover to the north and down the beaches, if you have never experienced the mulled run try to get in on it. you dont really need a boat, just find the mullet on a beach that you can fish from.

If you would like to fish it from a boat I would be glad to help out, give me acall at 305 333 8149.
