SNOOK, Speckled Trout and Snapper!

Capt. Armando Alejo
October 29, 2017
Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Greetings Cyberangler Community.

Before this front and the flu like symptoms I've dealt with the last 24 hours the Snook fishing was and has been on fire! We began the day "up front" of Flamingo and came across some Snook at our first spot. Landing one near a mangrove shoreline just out front of the markers outside of Flamingo, we did so on a soft plastic GULP swim bait with 25 lb. leader and 30 lb. braided Power Pro line. We headed east and tried our luck near some grass flats where we came across a few Mangrove Snapper and some Speckled trout. Next, we moved near East Cape channel where the Snook bite was also hot, we landed 5 more line siders this time on Gulp shrimp bounced off the bottom. We finished the day looking for Tarpon but came up short, saw just a few rollers but they wouldn't hit our flies.
