Spring in the Horizon!

Capt. Steven Tejera
February 15, 2011
Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

When I think of spring the first thing that comes to my mind is tarpon. The next couple months the tarpon will be invading South Florida and we will be right
after them on the hunt hoping to put some silver(Tarpon) in the air and some cool eats. Whether i'm chasing the tarpon on fly, artificial or bait there is nothing
like seeing a big tarpon blow up on your bait of choice followed up by some of the craziest/wildest jumps you will ever see displayed by a fish.
The last few weeks the redfish and snook fishing has been very good as well in flamingo with sheephead, grouper and many other species joining in on the
action. With the tarpon moving into south florida, backcountry slams (tarpon, snook, redfish and trout)are always possible this time of year! I am looking forward to this
spring and some excellent weather/fishing.
