Tough day turns out good!

Capt. Jim Hobales

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

I have been on vacation so about the lack of reports!

082413

I am with the Sines family, Mike ,Adrian, and their kids Lily and Owen down at Flamingo. The morning started out slow but we moved on a caught a bunch of Trout ,Jacks and Ladyfish. The kids were happy but Mike wanted something bigger. We made a move and put out some baits in a spot where there had been Tarpon all summer long. Today was no different as we sat there a couple rollers around us. I put a bait out in front of them and a few minutes later the rod doubled over, something was pulling really hard. I was pretty sure it was a Tarpon! I rigged another bait and it didn't take long , this time we saw the big Shark which eventually cut us off.

I moved a couple times and finally got into a pretty good bite, Mike hooked a 9 1/2 Snook on a Twitch n Rap. After landing the Snook we got into a good Redfish bite all of them were 26 inches. Everybody was able to catch one and then Adrian caught another big Snook@ 10lbs. Owen and Lily had a double header on Sharks and landed both of them. It started out slow but we stuck with it and it turned out pretty good.
