The Bite Is Hot In Fort Lauderdale

Capt. Vinnie Sacks

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here...This week I have another great report about the deep sea fishing in Fort Lauderdale, This week we are going to start on the inshore side of things, As of late there has been a very good amount of kingfish biting early in the mornings right now, trolling has been the best option right now to get a few fish in the box early in the trip, the deeper side of the reef like 90 to 110 feet has been the magic number if you are trolling, fresh bonito strips or even fresh mullet strips have been doing best fished over a seawitch. For maximum action It is always a good choice when trolling to use a planner to take the bait under the surface, most of the catch has been kingfish but there has been a few barracuda and bonito around as well as some sailfish which is a great sign for whats to come this winter. Bottom fishing this week has been very good lots of action of smaller bottom spots in deeper water we have been doing very well on vermillion snapper as well as a few amberjacks mixed in. Small pieces of cut bait for the snappers as live bait is always a good choice for the amberjacks. Moving offshore there has been a very good amount of mahi mahi or dolphin, there has been lots of floating debris due to the hurricane that just passed as well as some nice sized weed patches too, locating birds is always a great way to catch dolphin too. Remember live bait is still key if you happen to run into a school they will not turn it down. All day trips are still a must because the fish have been somewhat far offshore and the extra time allows you to go the distance. Also showing up offshore a few skipjack tuna in the mix similar to black fin tuna in a way but in my opinion they fight alot harder. Lots of options of different fish to catch if you do a half day trip or you decide to go all day. This week please check out some of the photos of some great catches we had during our deep sea fishing charters and remember to give us a like or follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfising for daily fishing content. Hopefully the fishing remains very good and I should have a solid report for you next week....
