Blue Marlin Fishing Ft Lauderdale

Capt. David Ide

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

August 19-24, 2013
I guess you could say I am addicted to fishing! I got an invite to go fish with some friends down in the Dominican Republic, so I took 4 days of vacation to do what I enjoy most, fish! We were fishing aboard a 60 ft Spencer sportfish decked out with all the bells and whistles. We averaged 5 blue marlin shots a day, landing 1white marlin and 4 blue marlins in 4 days of fishing. The DR was a great place to visit, with nice hotels and condos.

Fresh from my "vacation", I was ready for more fishing. JJ and I had a few half day charters on the Lady Pamela II the past couple of days. The weather in Ft. Lauderdale has been hot but we still we caught a bunch of bonitos. Today we caught a nice kingfish towards the end of the day. We also had a big hammerhead shark on the line, but the brute was not to be landed, as he pulled the hooks.
