Jim and Mary Labatt chartered the Top Shot Sportfishing charter boat team to do some deep-sea charter boat sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Fifteen to twenty minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water by the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. We started the afternoon charter trolling offshore in 200 ft. of water, about 2 miles off the beach south of Fort Lauderdale. As soon as we had lines in the water, Jim hooked a Sailfish. This Sailfish started jumping out of the water as soon as we got a hook in his mouth. He gave a great fight with some long runs and acrobatic jumping, showing the splendor of his colors. Jim brought the Sailfish along the side of the boat, and our mate, Joe, grabbed the Sailfish, removed the hook, and after a quick photo, released the Sailfish.

We went back to trolling. As soon as we had lines back in the water, we got another bite – this time it was a Black Fin Tuna. I was marking the school of fish in 400 feet of water south of Fort Lauderdale. Once we got on top of the school of fish, on every pass, we hooked up. Jim and Mary took turns catching one Tuna after another.

At the end of the trip we totaled 14 Black Fin Tunas, 1 Sailfish and one Kingfish. Great day fishing and hope to have the Labatt's back in the near future.

After a great fishing charter, it was time to head back to the dock. The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Bar Yachting Center, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
