Fantastic Fishing In Fort Lauderdale

Capt. Vinnie Sacks
April 18, 2023
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, man this week in Fort Lauderdale the deep sea fishing has been absolutely fantastic although we have been having a lot of heavy rain recently it seems to not have an effect on the fishing right now. As of late we have been having quite a bit of luck aboard our deep sea fishing charters the hot ticket item has been kingfish, kingfish, and kingfish. Lots of action on these guys the last few days shallower depths from 80 to 120 feet has been best, we have been trolling for the most part sea witches and fresh bonito strips have been the key to our success, live baiting has been a good way to target the larger kingfish but live bait has been hard to come by as of late due to all the rain and fresh water we have been having. Also on the inshore side of things there has been some bonito, and some nice sized barracuda mixed in with the kingfish. On the offshore side of things there has been a few mahi mahi but they have been very spread out if you can find something to fish to like seaweed or possibly something floating or possibly some bird activity you have a good chance to catch a few, it is defiantly a good sign to see them starting to showing up already I think this year will be a great year for mahi mahi off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. On this last full moon we had a very good wahoo bite going on, early mornings were the best chance at one of these fantastic fish. Last but not least the shark fishing has been excellent right now lots of big game sharks around like hammerhead, tiger, and bullsharks, sharks are a great way to target something large specially if your looking for a fight. Shark fishing should remain very good until end of summer. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos we have of some recent catches caught during our deep sea fishing charters, also remember to give us a follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. For the rest of the month of April we do have some availability so if your coming don to Fort Lauderdale and looking to get out on the water we would love to have you so check us out. Fishing is HOT right now so whats your excuse! More Later...
