Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie, this weeks report is right on pace with last week. The fishing in Fort Lauderdale Is still super Hot! Tons of offshore action, the offshore mahi mahi bite has been unreal pretty much as good as it can get, tons of very nice sized mahi we have been catching or plenty of them, as I stated last week you need at least 6 hours to get out to where they are but if you have the extra time and can do a full day of fishing 8 hours is best. Lots of floating debris just off the coast of Fort Lauderdale has been key, floating pieces of wood or even seaweed lines have been mahi havens. Trolling for them has been the best bet as of late seawitches and bonito strips or small feathers has been the best action, while locating floating objects putting out a planner with a spoon has been very ideal for any hungry wahoo in the area. On days where the mahi have been somewhat slow there has been plenty of tuna to take there place, blackfin and skipjack tuna have been the main culprits. Small baits fished on the surface at high speeds have been very productive depths from 200 to 600 feet have been best. Bottom fishing this week has been somewhat slow not the best but there has been some small vermillion snappers on deep water rock piles and ledges. The cooler temps that have been approaching should make for a great sailfish bite with in the next few weeks off the coast of fort Lauderdale, Be sure to check out our great photos this week of some recent catches right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale during our deep sea fishing charters.
