Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report
Harold's sister Linda was in Fort Lauderdale celebrating her birthday and since she LOVES to fish Harold decided to take her deep sea fishing.
So Linda, what is the biggest fish you've ever caught? She held her hands apart showing Chris the size and probably exaggerated… Most people that fish do. Hehehe With only a few hours, going off shore further was not an option so we stayed on the reef hoping for some action. It had been slow on the reef but we fish hard and it was to pay off.
The first fish that was caught was done so by Linda of course. A nice bite and a good sized Kingfish was boated.
At this point I have to mention something. Chris and I do this every day. It's a kingfish, big deal, we catch hundreds of these each year. BUT… When you have a customer like Linda who has now got to hold her hands much further apart than before, and add some excitement and screaming, girls do that… Well, just another Kingfish becomes something special.
With only 2 hours of fishing time, we ended up with another King, a large Spanish Mackerel, a full grown Bonito and some smaller ones before heading in.
The reef area hasn't been hot lately, but it did its job for Linda. Maybe it was birthday luck.
Deep sea fishing off Fort Lauderdale doesn't need to take all day.
Pictured is Linda with her new "Biggest catch".
