Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report
It's always great to have guests whom return to Fort Lauderdale for some deep sea fishing with us. Mike and his family were no exception. Along with his wife, Susie (Sailfish Suz we call her because of their last trip with us), he brought his mom Daisy and daughter Kate who will be entering College this fall.
The last time they fished with us was in April. Live bait and kite fishing was used and we had some great success with that. But in our deep summer months, kite fishing isn't always the best way to produce fish as the surface water can get beyond warm. So we began trolling and the results were great!
Everyone got a chance at the rod but Katie was the star this day. Mike was trying to get the girls involved, mom was happy on the bridge with Suz after having caught one fish. With some multiple hook ups, Katie would reel one fish in and then be handed another rod as soon as she had finished. Bonito and Kingfish were the product this day. And all, except maybe a tired Katie, were delighted in the nonstop action. Daisy got the call for the photo.
Just a bit over a mile from shore, Fort Lauderdale has some great deep sea fishing… Great enough to keep people coming back.
Target Species:
Sailfish, Shark, Dolphin, Tuna, Wahoo Kingfish, Bonito, Barracuda, Swordfish Marlin and more...
