Fort Lauderdale Fishing October

Capt. Mike Johnson
November 1, 2012
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing Fort Lauderdale in October was great. We had an un seasonable late run of nice sized mahi mahi. We found the mahi anywhere from right on the reef all the way out to 1000ft of water. Floating debris and weedlines were the ticket to finding these fish. In on the reef and just outside it the black fin tunas were out in force along with plenty of bonitas and kings with a few wahoos as well. The big news and what everyone has been waiting for are the sailfish. They are here already our best day we were 4-7. Kite fishing proved to be the best method as usual to get the bite from the sails, although we caught quite a few on the troll. Hurricane Sandy sidelined us for a little bit but we are back at it and ready to go. November will bring more cold fronts and with them more sailfish. Our numbers for sailfish are racking up quick and we are looking at a banner year. Lets Go Fishing!!
