Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Weekly Fishing Report | Don't Tell Mom Sportfishing
Fishing stayed exciting this week with a mix of challenging and improving conditions. Larger seas earlier in the week made offshore trips a bit more demanding, but the bite stayed productive. Looking ahead, the weather and sea conditions for the weekend look great, setting up a very fishable stretch.
One of the more interesting local highlights was the report of three great white sharks caught and released in the area, an extremely rare sight and a reminder of how much life has been moving through offshore waters lately.
Offshore action has been solid. We landed a trophy 31.5 lb king mackerel on live bait Sunday morning, a true standout fish and a great example of how effective live bait fishing has been. Blackfin tuna have been around consistently, providing steady action, and there have even been sightings of the occasional mahi, which is somewhat uncommon for this time of year.
Sailfish have also been starting to show up in better numbers, a strong sign that the seasonal bite is continuing to build. With favorable conditions ahead, we expect this trend to keep moving in the right direction.
Overall, fishing continues to offer a wide variety of opportunities offshore, and the coming days are shaping up to be very promising.
We'll keep posting weekly fishing reports to keep everyone up to date on conditions, recent catches, and what's biting.
