Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report 4/22/2026 - Don't Tell Mom Sportf

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Weekly Fishing Report | Don't Tell Mom Sportfishing – South Florida

This week had it all, with a wide variety of species and steady action across the board. Spring fishing continues to deliver, and the bite has stayed strong with favorable conditions.

The Bonitas moved in with full force, providing consistent action all along the reef in 90–160 feet of water. It's been great for keeping rods bent and anglers busy throughout the trip.

Blackfin Tuna action slowed slightly, but there are still plenty of fish around to keep anglers craving sushi happy. We're continuing to see opportunities throughout the day when conditions line up.

We also saw several Wahoo and Sailfish caught this week, adding some exciting pelagic action to the mix. A steady east wind and light north current helped keep the bite going and set up ideal fishing conditions.

Wreck fishing continues to improve, with a few nice Amberjacks caught on deeper wrecks, providing some serious battles and heavy tackle action.

Big game activity is starting to ramp up as well. We're beginning to see more sharks show up, and notably, two boats in the local charter fleet caught Great White Sharks this week, which is always an incredible and rare sight in our waters.

Mahi have remained around, and we're also starting to see King Mackerel showing up again, another great sign as we move deeper into the spring season.

Overall, fishing has been excellent and shows no signs of slowing down. This is one of the best times of year to get on the water.

Tight lines,
