Fort Lauderdale's Mahi Mahi

Capt. Mike Johnson
September 16, 2008
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The kids are back in school and slow season begins for us in September. THe fishing remains great but there are not as many people in town to go. We had a couple of big storms come close wchich interrupted things a bit but once they passed the fishing was off the chain. A hard blue water edge was pushed into 500 feet of water for Jim and Jeanie from San Francisco. On that edge was a weedline and some debris from the storm. In the weed and debris were mahi mahi's and a few wahoos. Jeanie caught her first mahi mahi, a real nice about 20# on a ballyhoo trolled just outside the edge. Jim also caught a real nice one plus a bunch off smaller ones. We passed a board and picked up two nice wahoos as well. Jim and Jeanie thank you again and see you soon. Call me 954 522 4773 to reserve.
