Fort Lauderdeale Fishing Red Hot Right Now!

Capt. Mike Johnson
June 24, 2012
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

June has been incredible for fishing this year! With a very mild winter fishing has been a little inconsistant the past two/three months. We had some great days but we had some tough ones too. June however has been strong and I anticipate July to be the same. Big blackfin tunas, Mahi and wahoos have all been making a strong showing, especially the blackfins. Sailfish have been biting well, even on the troll! Kingfish and bonitas have been out in force allowing us to bend the rods and keep the lines tight, once we have a few fish in the box its off to bigger and better things. Sharks are more than willing right now to chew our baits, with hammerheads, sandbar and bull sharks making up the starting lineup. Things to look for the rest of this month and July and August, BIG Warsaw grouper on the wrecks up to 100#!
