Ft. Lauderdale Fishing Deep Sea
Most Ft. Lauderdale deep sea fishing charters are booked by the person doing the fishing. Today's all day charter was purchased as a gift for Allen, his son Steven and the rest of the group Allen chose to join him. I have to say, I always enjoy when the charter shows up excited about their day of fishing.
The fishing has been exceptional lately, with Kingfish and Bonito almost making it impossible to catch anything else. Legal limits of Kings and a box full of Bonito (Little Tunney's) have been the norm lately. With just a few moments between hook ups and bites, the action was pretty consistent. And with the box almost overstuffed with fish, we decided to try for some other species. A trip to the anchor balls was in order for some Ballyhoo.
It took a bit but they finally came and a good toss of the net from deck tech Andrew had us back to the action. Slow trolling live "hoo's" is an excellent way to catch Tuna and Sailfish, which had been in our area as of late. Even a beautiful color edge in 300' of water, the perfect depth for this kind of deep sea fishing offered us little. A large Barracuda and yet, another Bonito were all it gave up.
Still a great time was had by all as can be seen in the picture of Allen and his son.
