Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report
There are some monster gamefish biting in Fort Lauderdale this month. Sailfish, one of the most sought after fish in the world, are biting extremely good this month. In fact, this month we've seen better sailfishing than all throughout the winter, which is usually the best time to get them. Sailfish are coming through in stronger numbers later and later into the year for the past few years. Of all the fish in the ocean, sailfish are one of the most exciting to catch because of the extreme jumping they do when on the line. They leap, somersault and twist and turn more than almost any other fish. Add to that they are also a very large fish, average size 7ft long and you have a world class gamefish. Shark season is heating up too. March is the start of our big game shark fishing season where we catch all the 6-10ft big game sharks. Hammerhead, mako, dusky, bull, thresher and more are biting on our shark fishing charters. We specialize in shark fishing and this is the best time of the year to do it. Check out the giant kingfish that was shark eaten when we were fighting it in the other day. The big game sharks are pouring through for the next few months, so get out there now while the big fish are here and get some!
