Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report
Today we started out fishing with Alan and his son Aaron and 2 others that we never did get their names (sorry) from Georgia.
We started out doing a bit of trolling off shore but with the seas a bit rough today we only stayed off shore for a short time. But we did end up catching a small black fin tuna.
Ok there is more than one way to skin a cat so we went inshore and set out some small live bonitos and slow trolled them inside the inlet. All of a sudden BAM the water exploded and this monster barracuda came leaping out of the water a good 5 feet in the air.
Aaron jumped in the chair and the fight was on. Now not only were we dealing with a big fish on light tackle but we also had to keep him away from a big ledge that was on the bottom not to mention buoy makers and other boats!$%#&*
It turned out to be a good 15 min back and forth tug a war but at the end of the fight Aaron landed this huge barracuda.

As we got back to the dock we had Danny, Mathew, Amy and Brain all from Long Island New York eager to give their luck a shot at some deep-sea fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale.
This afternoon we went right to kite fishing right off the bow of a ship that has been anchored up here for about a week. Since this ship had been here for all these days a lot of baitfish started hanging around so we figured there might be some bigger fish around too?
We set out our kites with 4 live baits suspended from them and within min we were Hooked Up with a big sailfish.
After a good 20 min back and forth struggle we finally sot this big sailfish next to the boat. We tried to get a few pictures (Witch did not turn out that good) then cut the leader right at the sails mouth.
After some hand shaking and some high fiving we went right back to the ship and set up again.
Within 10 min again we were Hooked Up and line was screaming off the reel as if there was a fright train on the other end.
After a few min the line slowed a bit and we started gaining on the fish.
As we got this fish next to the boat we could not believe our eyes we landed this 50-pound plus Wahoo. (Now that's a nice fish)
WOW what a great fishing trip off the coast of Fort Lauderdale!!!
