Hot Weathr, Hot fishing

Capt. Ryan McBride
August 2, 2009
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing has been great early and late in the the day from Fort Lauderdale to north of Boca Raton, FL. We have been targeting fish with live bait on the slow troll and kites when the wind allows. Some late season blackfin tunas are still around. Most fish coming first thing or last thing during the day. Though there is a ton of 5lbers, there are still plenty in the 20+ lbers. Also kingfish have been in good numbers with most in the 10-20lb range. Once we find a good school of them the action has been non stop for several hours if we want to concentrate on them. Offshore the dolphin have been mostly on the smaller size but enough to make it worth your while. Most of the action has been from 5-15 miles offshore under scattered wees.
Wahoos should pick up on the upcoming full and new moons as well swordfishing over the next month or two. Its a great time to go fishing.
