Day and Night Action

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

This week aboard the YB Normal out of Fort Lauderdale Florida we had some excellent fishing lots of different species of fish caught some sport fish as well as some great eating fish as too. Lets start off with the night fishing, it has been very good lately on the nights we can get out it has been somewhat windy though so we haven't been able to night fish every night but the nights we can it has been good, we have been catching yellowtail, mangrove, and mutton snappers at night time. attached is a great photo of Knox who is 4 years old and his dad took him out on his first fishing trip and he caught a nice mutton snapper he is definitely hooked now, that night we also caught our limit of snapper with 5 customers which is 50 snapper it was a great night!
Now moving to the daytime fishing which has been very good for wahoo, wahoo in my opinion is one of the tastiest fish in the ocean no matter how you decide to cook it, it is sought. after for its gamefish abilities as well as its beautiful colors and patterns, wahoo frequent the fort Lauderdale coast in search of food we do catch wahoo throughout the year but not daily they come and go which makes it very exciting to catch a few in a week, we did manage to catch a very nice sailfish this week also, sailfish are great fighters and love to jump, overall a excellent gamefish. We also have been catching a few tuna here and there on our afternoon charters while trolling planers and seawitches, there hasn't been many kingfish around as of right now but they will start to show up as we get more towards spring time, all in all a very nice as we like to say mixed bag of fish biting in Fort Lauderdale right now, pretty busy week ahead for us on the YB Normal but there is some availability if you are looking to get out on a sport fishing charter, from kids to adults and from day fishing to night fishing we have you covered!
More later….
