Red Hot Fishing In Fort Lauderdale

Capt. Vinnie Sacks
April 18, 2021
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, this week we have a great report but we also have been doing something new and it has been working very well, so lets get to it! As of late the fishing has been on fire lots of different species biting off the coast of fort Lauderdale, we have been fishing a few all day charters this week and to start off we have been anchoring up on the reef chumming and catching yellowtail snapper similar to what we do at night but in the daytime, I think its better for everyone because you still catch the same fish just don't loose sleep, and there is also a goo chance to catch pelagic fish like kingfish and tuna as well as a sailfish while anchored. Light tackle has been the key to success in the daytime while snapper fishing. We had a few great trips this week where we had very good conditions for this type of fishing and we limited out on snapper and also caught a bunch of bonito and tuna! Lots of fun had by all. Daytime trolling has been very productive as well for mostly tuna as of late, but there has been some larger size kingfish around and a few wahoo and sailfish. Mahi mahi as of late have been very hit or miss, I would say the mahi bite has been very similar to the phrase "should have been here yesterday" one day they are here and the next gone, which is ok it is still a little early they should start to heat up around mid may and early June. Overall this week has been a great one and we should continue to see fishing stay very good for a while now, lots of quality fish caught this week so please check out our photos of some of the great catches. This week coming up there is some availbility but spots are filling up fast so if your looking to get out fishing. now is a great time flat calm seas mostly everyday which is always a plus!
