Fishing Report for Ft. Lauderdale & Port Everglades

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Sails Improving!

Tuesday morning we headed out in search for Sail fish so I could get some pictures for an upcoming article that’s due for November. We caught our baits and set up the rods. We went 1 for 3 on the Sail fish and had some great action. All 3 fish fought long and hard. One fish was to just to much as he ran circles around the boat and put the line in the props. Another one should have come to the boat, but a lever on my Shimano Baitrunner got flipped up by accident and free spooled as the fish was running. We had an enormous birds nest and the line quickly cracked. We finally had one come in for a picture shot and released in good condition. All the bites came from the kite baits today. Our fall season is approaching and the Sail fishing will continue to be spectacular. Other species like Black fin Tuna, Wahoo, and Kingfish will be running south and the bite will be all over the place. The conditions are changing everyday and so is the fishing. Take advantage of great fishing as soon as you can afford the time.
