Fishing Report for Ft. Lauderdale & Port Everglades

Capt. Cary Hanna
July 19, 2007
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Beautiful Mornings!

Every morning is quite the same with flat calm seas and the nice morning sun. Bring your sunscreen. If you can start before 7am you have a shot at alot more bites. By the afternoon when the sun comes overhead the bite shuts down awhile until the early evening hours.

You can expect alot of Tuna bites, one after the other, mostly big Bonito, a few Blackfin and alot of Kingfish. Pilchard baits are all you need or you can jig them up if your good on the rod. It's very easy once you get the technique down. For the past month the Dolphin bite has been well offshore. On the reef the Dolphin have been undersized lately but each day is always different and brings in new fish. The Shark fishing has been good out deep and on the bottom. Hammerhead Sharks are always here in the summertime and can be a handful to catch.

Don't forget we are at the Bahia Mar fishing docks now located right on Ft. Lauderdale beach. Come by and see us!

See you on the rip,

Captain Cary Hanna
