Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Andy Roydhouse

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

It seems summer moved in fast this year. Temps in the 90's and afternoon storms are regular occurances already. The inshore action has been limtied during the daytime hours. Jack Crevalles are cruising the canals looking for stray schools of mullet or handouts from the fish cleaning tables. This is also your best area to soak a bait for the Tarpon. The Snook should be in the process of bunching up in the inlet looking for a date about this time of year. This type of fishing is always best to do after dark. If you have a few live baits during the daytime and need to bend a rod try looking for the Barracuda hangouts. They always seem willing to wack a frisky victim dragged through the strke zone.

Most of my recent trips found my boat searching the offshore waters. The dolphin fishing has been tough this week and the Bonitas are filling in time while waiting for a Kingfish to show up on the reef.

Sea Ya,
