Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Andy Roydhouse
October 10, 2001
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The finger mullet have had some good showings so far. When they are here you can find some quick action early in the morning. With the security in the prot and harbor you will need to hit your secret spots away from the restricted area. This is when all those years of hunting locations other then the common fishing holes will pay off.

Fall is pushing through. The winds are blowing over 30 mph and that means this is time for maintenance and paperwork. Before the breeze started we had some great action. There are a few Dolphin moving into our are. We got a hot tip on some floating debris a few miles out and it was loaded with Dolphin up to 21 pounds.

There are a few Kingfish and Mackerel in closer. The bottom is giving up a few Snapper and Jacks. The inshore waters are getting the annual showing of Mullet and with them are Tarpon, Barracuda and Jack Crevalles. If you can find the baits early in the day you should find the gamefish. As soon as the blow lets up we should find some new fish in town to play with.

Remember my reports are just general information of the days outing and a form of entertainment. You shouldn't plan your fishing outings by this info since it can and does change daily.

Sea Ya,
